Manuale di Sopravvivenza

Ciao! Eccomi qui a scrivere ancora, e stavolta solo per voi! 

 Se mai dovrete iscrivervi ad un programma come Exchange Student, qui potete trovare dei piccoli consigli per non rimanere bloccati nella compilazione della documentazione!

Vi verrà chiesto sicuramente di dare una descrizione di voi stessi e soprattutto di SCRIVERE UNA LETTERA ALLA VOSTRA FUTURA HOST FAMILY! 

Come potete ben vedere ve l'ho scritto in grassetto perchè per me è stata una delle cose più difficile da iniziare, sia perchè mi mancava la voglia, sia perchè non sapevo nemmeno come cominciare!

E quindi ecco a voi dei consigli d'oro per non sbagliare!

 I dieci comandamenti per stilare una Lettera perfetta: 

#1. Il primo consiglio che mi sento di darvi è quello di essere SINCERI al 90% perchè mettere nero su bianco quello che realmente vi rispecchia non sarà altro che un grandissimo aiuto per permettervi di trovare la famiglia ideale!

#2. Successivamente armatevi di tanta PAZIENZA e datevi TEMPO per pensare e fare una scaletta delle cose principali di cui vorrete trattare ,per esempio Hobby, Famiglia, Interessi, Carattere, Amicizie e Usi, Aspettative, Caratteristiche particolari( odiate il fumo, i bambini...)

#3.Visitate un po' di blog e cercate di leggere tuuuuutte le lettere di presentazione che trovate, in modo da farvi un'idea chiara e precisa di quella che potrebbe essere la VOSTRA lettera.

#4. Come avrete ben visto prima non ho scritto di essere sinceri al 100%, ma al 90... e non è stato un mio mistake!

Tutti sanno che la sincerità è la via più sicura, però è anche vero che esistono le bugie( o omissioni) bianche... e qui ne potreste fare uso.

Fumate? Bevete alcolici regolarmente? Vi drogate, anche solo con droghe leggere? Beh, questo non è il caso di menzioneare questa vostra dipendenza(eh sì,che lo vogliate o no sono dipendenze!), perchè potrbbe compromettere la vostra partecipazione!

Inoltre anche nel periodo del viaggio dovrete sospendere e cercare di abolire queste vostre abitudini, perchè non solo fanno male a voi e a chi vi sta intorno, ma sono anche altamente proibite!

#5. Non vi sentite chiamati in causa in questo punto perchè non fate uso nè di fumo, nè di alcolici, nè di droghe? Beh, allora siete in gamba, e potete essere sinceri al 100%!

#6. Nella vostra lettera dimostrate di essere educati e ben disposti alla partecipazione al programma exchange, in modo che le famiglie che leggeranno di voi avranno maggiore piacere al pensiero di ospitarvi!Nessuno vorrebbe un cafone o un maleducato in casa, specialmente se non figlio suo!

#7. Ognuno ha un livello di inglese diverso, ed è normalissimo! Per questo il mio consiglio potrebbe essere quello di curare la vostra lettera di presentazione, ma sempre senza strafare, perchè un volta arrivati a destinazione l'aspettativa, a mio avviso, potrebbe essere basata anche sul vostro livello dedotto dalla scrittura!... vedete che anche qui torna l'onestà!?

#8. Ci vuole misura! É vero... ci sono persone che quando cominciano a scivere entrano in un mondo parallelo(chissà dove vanno... magari a Narnia) e continuano a premere tasti sulla tastiera fino a che anche il computer decide di andare in sciopero, ma so anche che ci sono altre persone che per scrivere 3 righe in croce devono dire il rosario 20 volte, aspettare la venuta del Messia, della Stella Cometa, di Babbo Natale e della Befana...

Beh, ragazzi miei, mettetevi l'anima in pace perchè qui c'è a scrivere, ma lo ripeto, con MISURA!

#9. A scuola avrete imparato sicuramente a scrivere una lettera in inglese... e vi sarete sicuramente chiesti a cosa mai vi sarebbe servito... Sono felice di dirvi che è arrivato il momento di sfoggiare le vostre abilitàààààà!!!!! (quindi non perdete la speranza anche per la matematica, potrebe tornarvi utile anche lei... non si sa mai! :))

Hello my dear future Host Family!

First of all I want to thank you for welcoming me in your family.

In this letter I want to introduce myself and tell you something about me, my family and my life.

 My name is Veronica, I'm a 16-year old girl (turning 17 in January) and I come from Italy! I live in a small city near Milan called Samarate (approximately 20.000 inhabitants), but my school is in Busto Arsizio, a bigger city not so distant from where I live (just 10 minutes by car). I personally like the area where I live because there's not so much pollution, there are woods and fields, and Lombardy, which is my region, is in a perfect position, as it's not so far from the Alps, where I am used to practicing my favorite sport, SKI, and also not far from the sea! There are lakes, rivers and hills, but there are also airports and big and important cities such as Bergamo, Como and Milan, that is famous all over the world for Fashion and Masterpieces of Art, like the Duomo! 

I currently am in 11th Grade in Secondary school and I'm learning Languages. English, that I've been studying since I was 2 years old, as I attended the British College Kinder Garden, is the first language that I've learnt after Italian. I've also been studying German for 2 years and Spanish for 5 years, which I think are so important for my working and travelling future as much as English.

 I live with my parents, whose names are Marco and Giuliana. My father is the owner of a company, which is the leader in Italy in the world of Party Favors and my mother works for him as a Personal Assistant and office worker. Unfortunately I'm an only child and as I have no brothers or sisters I would really enjoy a family which could give me the opportunity of having a foreign brother/sister during a year time, and I hope to keep in contact with him/her!

 Talking about activities I can say that I like practicing sport and during my whole life (...well, only 16 years :)) I've practiced horse riding, ballet, modern dance, a little of Basketball and Volleyball, swimming, and ski, which I've already said it's my favorite sport! Now I only go to the gym, because I'm too busy with homework and studying, but at the weekend I allow myself a day in the mountains to ski! When I have some free time I hang out with my friends and once a month we go to the disco and party, but every time we go we never lose the wit and we never get drunk or smoke.

 I'm interested in reading crime novels and one of my childhood dreams was to become a detective! I also love watching American TV series, like "Awkward" or "Jane the Virgin", and listening to music. I LOVE Queen Beyoncé and one of my deepest dreams is to meet her!!!

I'm able to cook Italian food, and I will be glad to let you taste the flavor of the real Italian food and smell the fragrance of our land! I don't usually have pasta or rich meals because my family and I prefer having light and natural dishes to anything else, and we never go to fast foods.

I really love animals, especially dogs! I now have a Chihuahua and I consider him my brother, he's called Tobia and he's pure adrenaline! I've been begging my parents to buy me one for years and 2 years ago I finally managed to convince them!

I deem myself to be a real open-minded person, and I think this quality comes from travelling. Thank to my parents I got the opportunity to see many countries in the world and I got to the number of 21! The most surprising and memorable were, to mention some, Polynesia, Australia, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Hong Kong!

I consider myself able to face all the difficulties that could come from this experience in the US because I'm really determined, I never give up when I want to get results and never leave space to sadness.

I think I've said enough about my habits and myself, and I hope this letter could help you know me better.
